|Pegasus students are offered only the very best in training|
Its education partner will be Edinburgh Napier University in the United Kingdom, which has already validated the college and programmes, meaning that students can complete their international degrees at Pegasus.
Pegasus International College is part of the KinderWorld Education Group – a Singaporean-based company. Pegasus International College was established in 2014 as a higher education enterprise and operates currently as a hotel and business studies college, providing higher education pathways and further education for students as well as significant training opportunities for industry professionals.
Pegasus conducts many elements of its programmes in simulated training environments through competency-based training. The college is fitted out with state-of-the-art equipment with facilities that include training and demonstration kitchens, beverage and restaurant training centres, a coffee academy, and hotel office training facilities, as well as a house-keeping simulation area. All training facilities are at standards found in international hotels and restaurants and in superior hotel training colleges worldwide.
Within its campus, Pegasus International College has a training restaurant, The Bistro, which is open to the public and is also part of students’ live industry training. This is on top of a compulsory 3-month internship in 4- or 5-star properties. This ensures that graduating students have the critical job-ready employability skills that are now demanded by industry.
Competency-based training outcomes ensure students can actually do the things they say they can do and to an industry standard, thus avoiding costly further on-the-job training requirements by industry.
As an international higher education provider, Pegasus International College prides itself in having academic professionals with years of extensive teaching experience and relevant industry expertise. Students will gain knowledge from these prominent lecturers, among the best in the area of hospitality, tourism, culinary arts, business, and English-language training.
Pegasus’ network of 5-star hotel general managers ensures that students are placed for their internship at prominent properties. Graduates are keenly in demand and all are offered employment on completion of their programme of study – many are offered part-time employment while studying – such is the demand for their ability.
The college is licensed by a number of ministries and departments in Vietnam – the Ministry of Education and Training as a higher education establishment; Department of Education and Training for short-course training, professional development, and English-language training; the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs for all vocational education; and the Vietnamese Tourism Certification Board for all tourism occupational standards training programmes.
The college in Australia is a registered training organisation under the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and authorised to deliver Australian qualifications off-shore. An agreement between Pegasus UniCollege in Australia and Pegasus International College in Vietnam allows Pegasus in this country to deliver programmes that are identical to those in Australia and which remain subject to scrutiny and audit by ASQA. It is in this manner that students can obtain Australian qualifications, which are recognised around the world.
Pegasus not only provides hospitality and culinary majors with Australian qualifications over two years that are delivered and assessed in English (including the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management), Pegasus now also provides various majors in business management, marketing, human resources management, and finance/accounting with British qualifications.
These programmes are open to Vietnamese nationals as well as international students. Thus far, Pegasus has had Thai, Lao, Bangladeshi, South Korean, Nepalese, and American students.
Students will receive an international diploma after two years of study at Pegasus in Danang or Hanoi. Students then can go to work in Vietnam or go overseas to study further for a degree as the qualification is recognised by universities abroad.
Students seeking a pathway to a degree are given a choice of joining one of Pegasus’ overseas partners to complete a bachelor degree. Students can opt to study at Edinburgh Napier University in the UK and complete an ordinary degree in just 12 months.
Similar pathways can be pursued with universities and colleges in Australia and the US at greatly reduced time frames.
